Wednesday 23rd April Spanish Football Betting Preview

We have two evening fixtures to look at from La Liga on Wednesday, the first of those comes from the Estadio de Mendizorroza where Alaves will welcome Real Sociedad. There has been a change in management from Alaves since their 2-1 victory away from home earlier in the season with Eduardo Coudet taking the reins for the homeside now. They arrive at this fixture in 18th in the table and with just six matches remaining they need to accumulate as many points as possible to improve their chances of survival.

They have accumulated four points from their last three La Liga matches starting with a win away at Girona (0-1), followed by a home defeat to Real Madrid (0-1) and then more recently a draw away at Sevilla (1-1). This is certainly a winnable match with the advantage of playing in front of their home support.

The visitors Real Sociedad are 9th in the league with the chance of playing in the Conference Europa League still a possibility. Imanol Barrenetxea’s side have also collected four points from their last three fixtures with a victory away to relegation strugglers Las Palmas (1-3), a home defeat to Mallorca (0-2) and more recently an away draw at Villareal (2-2). We can see this being another 90 minutes with goals being scored.

Match Betting: Alaves 13/10, Real Sociedad 5/2 and the Draw 21/10 Kick off 20.30pm Live on Premier Sports

The other contest of the evening is from the Coliseum Alfonso Perez where Getafe welcome Real Madrid, the homeside have lost their last six fixtures home and away against their opponents but can that change here. Jose Bordalas’s side are 12th in the table but look to bounce back from two back to back defeats at home to Las Palmas (1-3) and away to Espanyol (1-0). In the last ten league games they have won five and lost five so it seems to be a case of all of nothing.

They face a team in Real Madrid who are looking to close down the four point gap between themselves and top of the table Barcelona with just six games remaining. Carlo Ancelotti’s side exited the Champions League last week losing 5-1 on aggregate to Arsenal losing home and away. The Galatico’s have won their last two league matches albeit not convincingly, beating Alaves away (0-1) and then Athletic Bilbao at home at the weekend (1-0). We expect this to be an end to end game with both sides looking for maximum points.

Match Betting: Getafe 19/5, Real Madrid ⅘ and the Draw 11/4 Kick off 20.30pm Live on ITV 4 and Premier Sports
