We have the return legs of the Quarter-Final on Thursday and in this article we will look at the two matches that involve the two Premier League teams. The first one is from the Deutsche Bank Park where Frankfurt will welcome Tottenham for the second leg, the German side took an early lead in London where striker Hugo Ekitike scored after just 6 minutes. Tottenham equalised twenty minutes later with right back Pedro Porro scored with his left foot. The North London side pushed for a winner but the game finished 1-1.
Frankfurt will come into this fixture with confidence after a victory at home at the weekend against Heidenheim (3-0). The main man upfront Hugo Ekitike scored again bringing his tally in the Bundesliga to 14 goals for the season. We expect the homeside to start him in hope to get on the scoresheet and help his side progress to the final four of the competition.
They face a side in Tottenham who would have been disappointed to not get a win in the first leg. That makes Ange Postecoglou’s side the outsiders to go through now. They were on the wrong end of a 4-2 scoreline at the weekend away at Wolves. Mathys Tel and substitute Richalison got the two goals for Spurs but they looked like the second best side all game. We expect the North London side to take a good following to Frankfurt in a stadium that holds 58000 but this will be an uphill task for the English side.

The second game to look at is from Old Trafford where Man United welcome Lyon for the second leg. This was a four goal thriller last week with both sides being at front at one stage, United substitute Joshua Zirkzee must have thought he had got his side the winner in the 88th minute but Lyon’s Ryan Cherki equalised for the French side in the 95th minute. This Quarter-Final is all for the taking but the head to heads at Old Trafford in previous years suggest the English side have the upper hand winning two from two.
Ruben Amorim’s side will need to bounce back from a disappointing result at St James’ Park on Sunday having been thrashed 4-1 by Newcastle. Alejandro Garnacho scored for his side but the manner of the defeat showed the difference between the two sides currently. We expect Man U to recall Rasmus Hojlund back to the starting eleven for this part two of the contest in the hope he can add to his five goal tally in Europe this season.
The visitors Lyon know they will be the outsiders to go through but they did have a more positive result than their opponents at the weekend. Paulo Fonseca’s side beat Auxerre away from home (1-3) making them climb to 4th in Ligue 1 with five fixtures remaining they are pushing for a place in one of the European competitions next season.
