We have two televised fixtures from the top flight of English football for you fans on Sunday, the first of the matches is from Portman Road where relegation strugglers Ipswich welcome Arsenal. Kieran McKenna’s side are 18th in the table with a huge 14 points currently needed to escape the drop with only six fixtures of the season remaining. The homeside lost to their nearest rivals Wolves at home which hindered their chases massively (1-2).
The last match was a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea where they took a 2-0 lead into the break. An early second half own goal got Chelsea back in the contest and then a comeback was completed when substitute Jadon Sancho scored on 79 minutes. That would have felt like a defeat for McKenna as a win there would have given his side a kick start to have a strong finish to the season. The fixtures for the seaside club after this are Newcastle away, Everton away, Brentford at home, Leicester away and the last game of the season is at home to West Ham who are now one place above the drop zone.
They face a side in Arsenal who look to complete the home and away double over their opponents after a 1-0 win at the Emirates. Mikel Arteta’s side look highly likely to finish the season as runners up. They drew their last league game at home to London rivals Brentford (1-1) but a trip to Madrid for the second leg of their Quarter-Final Champions League match is Wednesday evening where they take a three goal lead.
They will be looking for a victory at Portman Road regardless as they wouldn’t want the gap to close between themselves and third place.

The later fixture is from the King Power where Leicester welcome league leaders Liverpool, this match produced four goals up at Anfield so can we expect more of the same down here. Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s side know anything other than a win will guarantee Championship football next season. They put a stop to an eight game run without scoring with a 2-2 draw away at Brighton last weekend after coming from behind twice in that fixture. We can’t see them managing to score twice past this Liverpool side so they will need to be much tighter at the back.
Their opponents Liverpool hope to complete the home and away double after a 3-1 victory at Anfield earlier in the season. Arne Slot’s side are 13 points clear at the top after a home victory against West Ham last weekend (2-1). It did look at one stage that the Merseyside club would collect more silverware this season than just the Premiership but it wasn’t to be, from a player point of view it looks highly likely that Mohammed Salah will be winning the Golden Boot. His nearest competition Erling Haaland is out injured. We expect a contest of goals but we can see Liverpool sending the Foxes down.
Match Betting: Leicester 11/1, Liverpool ⅕ and the Draw 11/2 Kick off 16.30pm Live on Sky Sports Main Event
On Sunday we have two non televised fixtures from the top flight of English football, the first one we will preview is from Craven Cottage where Fulham host Chelsea in a South London Derby. Marco Silva’s side came from one goal down to win 2-1 when the sides met at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season so two goals in the final ten minutes. The homeside sit 9th in the table but with only six fixtures remaining they have a bit of a gap to chase to get within touching distance of a place in Europe next season. A victory here would help massively but they need to bounce back from a defeat away to Bournemouth on Monday (1-0).
They can take confidence that their last fixture here was a win against so to be league winners Liverpool (3-2) which was only the second league defeat of their season.
The visitors Chelsea slipped down to 6th after two consecutive draws, the first of those was a goalless draw away at Brentford which was followed by a draw at home to Ipswich (2-2). They went two goals down in that fixture but they can’t afford to do that here against a better side away from home. We will have to wait and see if Enzo Maresca starts with Christopher Nkunku or Nicolas Jackson in the sole forward position for this Derby match that we expect to see goals in.

The other afternoon fixture is from Old Trafford where Man Utd welcome Wolves, Ruben Amorim’s side are without a victory in three league games. They lost away to Nottingham Forest (1-0), drew at home to Man City (0-0) and then got thrashed by Newcastle (4-1) in their last game. The Manchester club are 14th in the table which is well below their standards so it will be interesting to see if there are any changes of personnel in the summer. They remain in the Europa League with a Quarter-Final second leg at home to Lyon on Thursday evening, with the tie 2-2 on aggregate.
They face a side in Wolves who look to complete a home and away double after a 2-0 win earlier in the season. Vitor Pereira’s side are 14 points clear of relegation so survival could be confirmed this weekend if results go their way. They look to make it five wins on the bounce here after wins away at Southampton (1-2), home to West Ham (1-0), away at Ipswich (1-2) and at home to Tottenham (4-2). You’d have to say on current form Wolves are more likely to get maximum points but we expect to see some goals in this match regardless of the score.
