Saturday 3rd May Premiership Football Betting Preview

We have two fixtures available to watch on your big screen from the top flight of English football. The first we will look at is the lunchtime kick off from Villa Park where Aston Villa will host Fulham, Unai Emery’s side will be looking to complete the home and away double after a 3-1 victory at Craven Cottage. The Midlands side went a goal down after just five minutes but turned it around with both sides ending the match with ten men.

The homeside sit in 7th place in the table but only three points separate them from a Champions League place so a victory here will help massively. They don’t come here in the best of form losing their last two away at Man City in the league (2-1) conceding in the 94th minute and then a FA Cup Semi-Final defeat to Crystal Palace at Wembley at the weekend (3-0). One thing that is in Emery’s side’s favour is that the last six fixtures at Villa Park have resulted in victories, three in the league, three in the Champions League and one in the FA Cup.

The visitors Fulham are 8th currently, Marco Silva’s side have already beaten last year’s points tally by four points with four fixtures remaining to possibly pick up some more. They are looking to get back to back wins on the road here after a victory at Southampton last weekend (1-2), Silva’s team went a goal down after just 14 minutes but two goals in the final third of the match meant they came away with maximum points. We expect leading goal scorer Raul Jimenez to start, the Mexican has scored ten so far in the league this season.

Match Betting: Aston Villa ¾, Fulham 18/5 and the Draw 14/5 Kick off 12.30pm Live on TNT Sports 1

The other fixture to look at is from the Emirates where Arsenal will host Bournemouth, Mikel Arteta’s side need to bounce back quickly after a disappointing defeat here in the Champions League Semi-Final to PSG midweek (0-1). The Gunners conceded after 4 minutes and from then on they were having to chase the game. They dropped points in the league in their last match here against Crystal Palace, after taking the lead twice, firstly within three minutes thanks to centre half Jakub Kiwior before Eze equalisted for the visitors. They managed to go in at half time back in front when forward Leandro Trossard scored from inside the box.

The North London side had a goal ruled out by VAR midway through the second half which would have killed the game off. Emery’s side 2-1 lead wasn’t enough as on the 83rd minute the equaliser came from Jean-Philippe Mateta who netted from out the box to gain his side a point (2-2). We expect Arsenal to get the victory here and go into next week’s return leg in Paris in a more positive mindset.

The visitors here Bournemouth have slipped down to midtable after a dip in form in the second half of the season, Andoni Iraola’s side arrive at this fixture after two consecutive draws. They drew away at Crystal Palace (0-0) and then more recently at home to Man United where they were a goal ahead and in control till the 70th minute when Evanilson saw a straight red. The equaliser for United didn’t come until the 96th minute when Rasmus Hojlund rescued a point for his side (2-2). The Cherries beat their opponents earlier in the season 2-0 but we can’t see them winning at the Emirates.
