Saturday 29th March Spanish La Liga Football Preview

We have four televised matches to look at with you from La Liga on Saturday with the first of them coming from the Reale Arena where Real Sociedad will host Real Valladolid, we hope for a more exciting game of football than the last time they met which ended goalless. The homeside sit in 12th currently but with ten games left of the season that looks the likely position they will finish, Imanol Barrenetxea’s side exited the Europa League losing 5-2 on aggregate to Man United and it looks likely they will fall short at the semi-final stage of the Copa del Rey to Real Madrid. They lost the first leg which now means they need to win at the Bernabeu to reach the final.

This looks a perfect chance to get back to winning games having just collected one point from their last three La Liga games.

The visitors Real Valladolid sit at the foot of the table and eleven points from safety, it’s extremely likely that Alvaro Rubo’s side will be getting relegated this season. They will arrive at this fixture with just one point from their last nine games and that was from a 1-1 home game against Las Palmas, over the season they have lost 13 of their 14 away games with the only victory back in October which was a 3-2 victory over Alaves with two of those goals being penalties. This will be a tough fixture to gain anything from. Kick off 13.00pm Live on Premier Sports.

Best odds for the fixture can be found at casinos not on Gamban: Real Sociedad 3/10, Real Valladolid 11/1 and the Draw 4/1.

The second fixture of the day is from the RCDE Stadium where Espanyol host Atletcio Madrid, this is another fixture which resulted in a goalless game when they last met. The homeside are 15th in the table with just one point above the drop zone, Manolo Gonzalez’s side beat their opponents city rivals Real Madrid here last month beating them 1-0 so can they do the same to Atletico now. Since that game they have won away to Alaves (0-1), drew at home to Athletic Bilbao and Girona (1-1) then suffered defeat away to Real Sociedad and Mallorca (2-1).

This looks to be a tough fixture for them but they have lost just three of their 14 home league games this season.

The visitors Atletico Madrid sit 3rd in La Liga four points adrift from the top two with ten games remaining, Diego Simone’s side exited the Champions League losing on penalties 4-2 to Real Madrid recently but they still have chance of some silverware as they have the second leg Copa del Rey semi final against Barcelona to come. They clawed back a 4-2 deficit to finish the game 4-4.

They hope to get back to winning ways here having lost the last two league games away at Getafe 2-1 and then more recently at home to Barcelona 4-2.

Match Betting: Espanyol 6/1, Atletico Madrid 11/20 and the Draw 14/5 Kick off 15.15pm Live on Premier Sports

The next game comes from the Estadio de Mendizorroza where Alaves host Rayo Vallecano, Eduardo Coudet’s side are 17th in the league and very much in the thick of a relegation battle. They have managed to collect five points from a possible nine in the last three fixtures, they drew away against Mallorca (1-1), won at home against Villarreal (1-0) and then the last game drew away against Las Palmas (2-2).

They face a side in Rayo Vallecano who are 9th and ten points above them in the table. Inigo Perez’s side are without a victory in five games, they have lost away to Barcelona (1-0), lost at home to Villareal (0-1), drew at home to Sevilla (1-1), lost away to Real Madrid (2-1) and more recently drew at home against Real Sociedad (2-2).

You can expect a tight game but the homeside are arriving here in much better form so will that play a part. Kick off 17.30pm Live on Premier Sports.

Best odds for the fixture can be found at American betting sites for UK: Alaves 13/10, Rayo Vallecano 13/5 and the Draw 15/8.

The final fixture of the day comes from the Bernabeu where Real Madrid will welcome Leganes, this fixture has been known to result in goals with the last time the two sides meeting in the cup ended 3-2 to Real Madrid, that fixture was away for the Galacticos. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are joint top of La Liga but have played one more game than Barcelona, they arrive here on the back of two consecutive wins in the league where they have beaten Real Vallecano at home 2-1 and Villareal away 1-2.

They have the second leg Copa del Rey fixture here next week and then the following week it’s the first leg of the Quarter Final tie against Arsenal in the Champions League. This is a great opportunity to pick up maximum points and keep the pressure on their competitors in the league.

The visitors Leganes are in the drop zone sitting 18th in the table and very much in a relegation battle. Borja Jimenez’s side have lost their last two games in La Liga away to Celta (2-1) and then more recently a defeat at home to Real Betis (2-3). Unfortunately for their supporters it looks like it will be three consecutive defeats and in doing so put dents on their La Liga survival.
