Saturday’s Lunchtime Football In Britain
We have two lunchtime fixtures available to watch on your big screen this Saturday, the first we will preview is from the Premier League where Chelsea will welcome Everton to Stamford Bridge. There has been a change in Everton’s manager since they met in a goalless draw earlier in the season so us football fans can only hope we will now get better entertainment. Enzo Maresca’s side dropped points at home to Ipswich in a game they went two goals behind but pulled it back to rescue a point (2-2) they dropped down to 6th but a victory last weekend away at Fulham (1-2) helped them not lose any more ground on the race for European football. They conceded early again and needed two goals in the last ten minutes of the game to get maximum points.
The South London Club really need a win here as with four fixtures remaining of the season including this one they have a home game against soon to be Champions Liverpool, away trip to Newcastle, home game against Man Utd and their final match of the season is away at Nottingham Forest who are a side challenging for a place in the Champions League.
The visitors Everton have turned the corner since the reappointment of David Moyes, they are 13th now after being fighting for relegation before Moyes took charge. They managed to get a great victory away at Forest the other week (0-1) in a game they weren’t expected to win but that followed by a defeat back at home to Man City (0-2) conceding two goals in the final stages of the 90 minutes. We expect a completely different game of football here than the one earlier in the season with goals being scored at both ends.
The best odds for this fixture can be found at non UKGC casinos here: Chelsea 4/7, Everton 5/1 and the Draw 29/10 Kick off 12.30pm, Live on TNT Sports 1.
The other lunchtime game is from the Scottish Premiership where Dundee Utd welcome title winners Celtic to Tannadice Park, when the sides met here earlier in the season it ended with a goalless 90 minutes but we expect a much more thrilling game of football this time. Jim Goodwin’s side have climbed up to 4th in the table after three consecutive victories, they beat Ross County away (0-1), Hearts away (0-1) and St Johnstone at home (1-0). They have looked a well organised side in those fixtures so if they can do the same here and get the first goal of the game it will certainly help their chances of getting the three points.
The visitors Celtic had the title won a long time ago but they will be hoping to better their 92 pts tally from two seasons ago by winning all their remaining matches of the season. Brendan Rodger’s side have scored an impressive ten goals in their last two fixtures where they beat Kilmarnock at home (5-1) followed by a Scottish Cup Semi-Final win away at St Johnstone (0-5). Japanese forward Daizen Maeda will see this game as an opportunity to add to his 16 goal league tally this season.
Match Betting: Dundee Utd 9/1, Celtic 2/7 and the Draw 5/1 Kick off 12.30pm, Live on Sky Sports Football.
Saturday’s Non Televised Premiership Matches
We have four fixtures to look at with you from the top flight of English football, the first of them is from the American Express Stadium where Brighton will host West Ham. The points were shared in a close game of football earlier in the season (1-1) but there has been a change in managerial position for West Ham since. The homeside sit in mid-table with the chance of European football next season out of reach now. Fabian Herzeler’s side have dropped out of form recently with three defeats and one draw in their last four matches conceding eleven goals in the process. They are currently on the same amount of points they finished on last season with five fixtures remaining but the previous year they finished 6th which gave their fans a Europa League adventure.
The visitors West Ham have appointed Graham Potter since the two sides met earlier in the season. They have no worries of relegation but the Hammers sit in 17th which is the lowest they have finished since they returned to the Premier League in 2012. The last win was at the end of February when they beat Leicester at the London Stadium (2-0). That stat looked like it was going to end last weekend but a 93rd minute equaliser by bottom of the table Southampton meant that the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.
The best odds for this fixture can be found at USA casinos for UK players here: Brighton 4/6, West Ham 4/1 and the Draw 29/10 Kick off 15.00pm
The next fixture to look at is from St James’ Park where Newcastle will host Ipswich, Eddie Howe’s side are looking to complete the home and away double over their opponents after a 0-4 win earlier in the season. The Magpies five game winning run came to a halt at the weekend when they lost away at Aston Villa (4-1). They slipped down to 5th but Champions League football is still well within their reach and a home victory here will certainly help their target.
The visitors Ipswich will be confirmed as relegated this weekend if they don’t win, Keiran McKenna’s side have just the one win in their last eight fixtures which was away at Bournemouth (1-2). We can see their 20 defeats this season being increased here in a comfortable victory for the homeside.
Match Betting: Newcastle ⅕, Ipswich 14/1 and the Draw 13/2 Kick off 15.00pm
The third contest to look at is from St Mary’s where Southampton face Fulham, this fixture ended in a goalless draw when they met back in December but since then the homeside parted company with their manager after relegation was confirmed. Simon Rusk will take charge until a permanent replacement is sorted. The last league win at home for Southampton was back in November when they beat Everton 1-0.
The visitors Fulham are 9th in the table with a mid-table finish highly likely, Marco Silva’s side need to bounce back from two back to back defeats away at Bournemouth (1-0) and at home to Chelsea (1-2) where they conceded two late goals to lose the match. We see this as a good opportunity to get back to winning ways here without conceding a goal.
The best odds for this fixture can be found at credit card gambling sites here: Southampton 9/2, Fulham 4/6 and the Draw 3/1 Kick off 15.00pm.
The last of the afternoon matches comes from Molineux where Wolves will welcome Leicester, Vitor Pereira’s side hope to get the home and away double over their Midlands rivals here after a 0-3 win earlier in the season. The homeside have pulled themselves away to safety after looking to be in a relegation battle. They are on a five game winning run which we feel will be extended here.
The visitors Leicester will be playing Championship football next season, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side managed to score two goals in an away fixture at Brighton which ended in a 2-2 draw. That was the first time the Foxes had scored since the end of January in the league. The fans look to be unhappy with the way the club is being run and that was shown in their last match where they lost at home to Liverpool (0-1).
Match Betting: Wolves ½, Leicester 11/2 and the Draw 10/3 Kick off 15.00pm
