The Premier League Darts is back on Thursday night with week 7 of the tournament, the opening contest of the evening is Chris Dobey up against Stephen Bunting. The two players have played against each other 12 times and Chris Dobey is ahead 8-4 with the most recent match being at the Cazoo Uk Open last month with Dobey winning comfortably 10-6.
The two players aren’t having the best Premier League, Dobey is 7th in the table with just three points which were gained on Night one where he beat Gerwyn Price 6-4 and Rob Cross 6-4. The remaining five nights he has lost his opening match so can the Brit get back to winning here?
His opponent Stephen Bunting has failed to get any points on the board in this tournament so far losing to Rob Cross (4-6), Van Gerwen (1-6), Humphries (4-6), Littler (3-6), Aspinall (2-6) and Price (4-6). Both players are low on confidence but the head to head to head suggests that Dobey has the upper hand.
Match betting odds at gambling sites that take credit cards: Chris Dobey 10/11 and Stephen Bunting 10/11 Scheduled for 19.15pm.
The second contest of the evening comes from Luke Humphries and Michael Van Gerwen the last ten matches between these two have resulted in Humphries winning 9 times and Van Gerwen just the one. The Brit has dropped to second in the table after a bad couple of weeks losing to Rob Cross 6-4 on Night 5 and then Luke Littler 6-4 on Night 6. The two players have met once in this tournament so far on night 1 where the Brit won 6-5 in a close contest.
His opponent Michael Van Gerwen sits 4th in the table with 10 pts, the Dutchman has won the opening match of the evening five times but has failed to get past that stage on any occasion, this week he is up against a player with great maximum score record so can he keep tabs on him to be the better finisher on the doubles. We feel he will be up against it here against a player who is looking to get back to winning ways.
Match betting odds at American betting sites for UK: Luke Humphries 8/15 and Michael Van Gerwen 6/4 Scheduled for 19.45pm .
The third game of night 7 comes from the curiosity of Luke Littler and Nathan Aspinall, this is another one sided if you look at the last ten matches between these two. Littler has won nine times and Aspinall just the once. They have played against each other already in this tournament Night 4 it ending 6-2 and Night 5 it ending 6-3 both in favour of Littler. The talented young player has found himself at the top of the table after Humphries slight dip in form the last two weeks.
His opponent Nathan Aspinall is in 6th in the table, he’s managed to get to the second match twice in Night 3 and Night 5 but. This looks to be an extremely hard match for him that we can’t see him progressing past.
Match Betting: Luke Littler ⅕ and Nathan Aspinall 19/5 Scheduled for 20.15pm
The final opening tie of the night is Gerwyn Price and Rob Cross, this looks to be a great match up on paper with the head to head between the two being 5-5. The Welshmen is 3rd in the table with 12 pts and arrives here on the back of winning night 6 of the tournament where he beat Bunting (6-4), thrashed Van Gerwen (6-1) and then beat Luke Littler comfortably (6-3) in the final match of the evening.
His opponent Rob Cross is in 5th place on 8 pts currently, the Brit has won his first contest for the last three weeks beating Van Gerwen (6-5), Luke Humphries (6-4) and Chris Dobey (6-2) so can he make it past the first stage for the fourth week running here.
We anticipate a close contest but will the red hot Price carry on from last week’s great performance.
