Midweek Premier League Football Betting Preview

We have three televised Premiership fixtures to look at with you starting with the Bank Holiday where we have Tottenham welcoming Nottingham Forest to the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium. The fixture earlier in the season only resulted in a single goal but we feel that this will be a different case this time.

Ange Postecoglou’s side come in this fixture after a Quarter-Final victory away at Frankfurt (0-1) winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate. They now have Bodo/Glimt up in the Europa League Semi-Final in a couple of weeks time. The homeside’s league form isn’t good of late with one victory and three defeats in their last four matches. They lost away at Fulham (2-0), lost away at Chelsea (1-0), won at home against Southampton (3-1) and then lost away at Wolves in their last game (4-2). The North London club are 15th in the table and the only chance of European football next season is winning the Europa League which would qualify them for next season’s Champions League.

The visitors Nottingham Forest are looking to complete the home and away double over their opponents here after a 1-0 victory earlier in the season. Nuno Santo’s side dropped to 4th in the league after two consecutive league defeats away at Aston Villa (2-1) and at home to Everton (0-1). It would be a big loss for them to slip out of the Champions League places after a great overall season. They have the FA Cup Semi-Final tie at home to Man City at the weekend too so a victory here is paramount to the team’s morale. We expect a few goals in this fixture.

The next contest to look at is from the Etihad where Man City will welcome Aston Villa, both sides are pushing for spots in Europe and with six games of the season remaining it could easily go down to the last fixture. Pep Guardiola’s side are 5th at present which can only be seen as a disappointing season for last year’s winners. The season could still result in some silverware with the FA Cup still a possibility. They arrive at this game unbeaten in their last three fixtures beating Leicester away (2-0), goalless draw away at rivals Man Utd, followed by a home thrashing against Crystal Palace (5-2) having been two goals down early on.

They face a side in Aston Villa who are hoping to complete the home and away double over their opponents after a 2-1 victory at Villa Park. Unai Emery’s side were knocked out of the Champions League midweek after losing to PSG 5-4 on aggregate. The Midlands side have won their last five matches at home in the all competitions but the results haven’t been anywhere near as good and now they face a side who have lost just three times at the Etihad all season. We expect both sides to get on the scoresheet but will the home advantage show in the result.

Best odds for this fixture can be found at non UKGC casinos here: Man City ¾, Aston Villa 3/1 and the Draw 10/3. Kick off 20.00pm Tuesday Live on Sky Sports Main Event.

The final of the leagues midweek fixtures comes from the Emirates where Arsenal welcome Crystal Palace for a London Derby, this fixture produced a whopping six goals when they met at Selhurst Park with Arsenal leaving winning 5-1. Mikel Arteta’s side title hopes were lost a while ago but they still aren’t guaranteed runners up spot after two back to back 1-1 draws away at Everton and at home to Brentford. There’s six fixtures left and they are four points clear of fourth place Newcastle. The North London side surpassed Real Madrid in the Quarter-Final of the Champions League winning 2-1 in Madrid and 5-1 on aggregate. A contest against French Champions PSG is next up.

The visitors Crystal Palace are 12th in the table and two defeats away from home conceding ten goals in total is not what the performance you want to give to your visiting fans. They lost away against Man City (5-2) followed by a defeat at Newcastle (5-0). It doesn’t bode well that they conceded five the last time they faced Arsenal so can they improve on that this time?
