We have two Italian Cup quarter finals to preview with you here to see who will be joining Bologna and AC Milan in the last four. The first fixture comes from the San Siro where Inter host Lazio, Simone Inzaghi’s side are top of Serie A but only a point clear of 2nd place Napoli and three points ahead of Atlanta in 3rd. The homeside remain in the Champions League and have a fixture first leg away at Feyenoord coming up next week so they are still in with three good chances of collecting some silverware.
They will arrive at this game on the back of a 1-0 victory at home to Genoa where Lautaro Martinez scored in the 78th minute. It looks likely he will lead the front line alongside Joaquin Correa, the last time these two met in the league it ended with a 6-0 thrashing by Inter so now with the home advantage they will fancy their chances of reaching the last four in the cup.
The visitors Lazio sit 5th in the league but with ten points separating them from top of the table it looks unlikely they will achieve anything more than a European place next season. Marco Baroni’s side still remain in the Europa League so the Italian Cup and Europa League are their only chance of silverware.
They will arrive at this fixture on the back of two draws at home to Napoli where it finished 2-2 and then a goalless draw away to Venezia.

The second game comes from the Allianz Stadium where Juventus welcome Empoli, Thiago Motta’s side are 4th in Serie A and are on a four game winning run in the league. They have beaten Empoli at home 4-1, Como away (1-2), Inter at home (1-0) and Cagliari away (0-1).
The homeside exited the Champions League after a two leg 4-3 loss on aggregate to PSV last week so this is their only chance of silverware unless they chase down a current 8 point deficit in the league with just ten games remaining. The last time these two sides met in the league Juventus thrashed them but as you know anything can happen in the cup.
The visitors Empoli are 18th in Serie A and in a relegation battle, Roberto D’Aversa’s side are currently two points from safety but without a victory in 11 games and collected only two points they need to change their direction quickly with just ten games to go in the season. You would think that survival is a priority so will they rest a few players for this fixture or roll the dice and aim for silverware.
