Friday 14th March Televised Football Preview

We have your Friday evenings entertainment sorted for you football fans with three games available live. The first fixture to look at will come from Ashton Gate where Bristol City welcome Norwich, Liam Manning’s side will hope they can complete the home and away double over their opponents here having beaten them 2-0 at Carrow Road earlier in the season.

The homeside sit 7th in the Championship, just two points outside of the play off places currently and unbeaten in six games. They have had victories at home to Stoke (2-0), at home to Middlesbrough (2-1) and away at Millwall (0-2). The draws were all 1-1 away at Cardiff, at home to Hull and away to Sheffield Utd. We are now heading towards the end of the season but with nine games remaining a win here will lift them into the top six even if it’s for one day.

The visitors Norwich are 12th in the table, Johannes Thorup’s side are without a win in three league games. They have drawn away at Blackburn (1-1), at home to Oxford (1-1) and then lost in a five goal thriller at home to Sheffield Wednesday (2-3) having been two nill ahead. The away side look likely to miss the play off positions this season but we can still expect an entertaining game with goals from both sides.

Match betting odds at gambling sites not on Gamban: Bristol City 21/20, Norwich 14/5 and the Draw 12/5. Kick off 20.00pm Live on Sky Sports.

The next fixture we will look at is from La Liga where Las Palmas welcome Alaves to Gran Canaria for a relegation zone match up, Diego Martinez’s side are 19th but a victory here would lift them out of the bottom three on goal difference. There is only four points between themselves and 15th so it’s well within their hands to escape the drop with eleven games remaining. The island side have picked up just two points from their last nine games but can that change here.

The visitors Alaves are 18th in La Liga, Eduardo Coudet’s side won 2-0 when the sides met earlier in the season so they will hope to get a win here which would also lift them out of the bottom three into 15th. The away side are two points ahead of their opponents here in the table and arrive here on the back of a win at home to Villareal (1-0).

We can expect a tight game but you’d have to say Alaves are the more likely to come away with maximum points.

Match betting odds at non UKGC casinos: Las Palmas 21/10, Alaves 6/4 and the Draw 2/1. Kick off 20.00pm Live on Premier Sports.

The last of the televised games for us to preview is from Ligue 1 where Nice host Auxerre at the Allianz Riviera, Franck Haise’s side are 3rd in the table and en route for a place in Europe next season. The homesides four game winning run came to an end last weekend when they got beat at home to Lyon (0-2). Previously to that they had victories at home to Lens (2-0), away to Le Havre (1-3), at home to Montpellier (2-0) and away to Saint-Etienne (1-3). The forward power of Evann Guessand (10 goals) and Gaetan Laborde (9 goals) should be enough to get the homeside the three points and in doing so return to winning ways.

The visitors Auxerre won 2-1 when the two sides met earlier in the season having been a goal down, Christophe Pelissier’s side sit 11th in the table and having a run of patchy form for a good two months they might have just turned the corner. They arrive at this fixture having won two of their last three games at home to Marseille (3-0) and away to Reims (0-2).

We can see both sides getting on the scoresheet but we feel the quality Nice have going forward to be too much for Auxerre.
