We have three fixtures from the top flight of English football on Sunday and the first of them comes from Stamford Bridge where Chelsea will host Leicester. The homeside are 5th in the Premiership but with just two points separating themselves from a top 3 place all they can do is keep winning games, Enzo Maresca’s side ended a three game losing run with a home victory against Southampton (4-0). The seaside club are bottom of the table but getting four goals in will only have helped lift their confidence.
The visitors Leicester lost 2-1 when the sides met at the King Power earlier in the season when Steve Cooper was in charge but things haven’t been plain sailing since Ruud Van Nistelrooy took over. The Foxes are 19th in the table and need five points as it stands to get out of the bottom three. They have won one and lost eleven of their last twelve fixtures, which was away at Tottenham (1-2), with just 11 games remaining the Midlands club needs to get some points on the board but we aren’t sure that will happen here.

The second game for us to look at is from the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium where Spurs play Bournemouth, Ange Postecoglou’s side have climbed up the table after a three game winning run. That came to an end last weekend when they lost here against Man City (0-1). The North London Club just have the league to concentrate on now after both cup runs came to a halt last month.
The visitors Bournemouth won 1-0 when the sides met at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season, Andoni Iraola’s side sit 7th in the table but arrive at this game having lost their last two league games at home to Wolves (0-1) and away to Brighton (2-1). The seaside club did get their revenge on Wolves with a 5-4 win on penalties against them in the last 16 of the FA Cup last weekend though. We expect this could go either way but the visitors need the victory more to push for a place in Europe next season.

The main event of the day comes from Old Trafford where Man United host Arsenal, Ruben Amorim’s side won 5-4 on penalties when the two sides met in the FA Cup but the homeside lost to Fulham on penalties in the last 16 last weekend so the cup run for this season has finished. They are 14th in the Premiership and arrive here unbeaten in their last two games drawing at Everton 2-2 and then winning 3-2 here against Ipswich.
The visitors Arsenal won 2-0 when the sides met at the Emirates in the league earlier in the season, Mikel Arteta’s side have lost any chance they thought they had of catching Liverpool after a defeat at home to West Ham (0-1) and a draw away at Nottingham Forest (0-0) in their last two. The London club did thump PSV 7-1 away in the Champions League mid week so that contest is in safe keeping for the return leg next week. We can expect goals here but on current form you’d have to say the away side would leave with the points.
