Saturday 29th March French Football Preview

We have three televised games from Ligue 1 to look at with you, the first comes from the Stade Auguste Delaune where Reims will host Marseille. We hope for more of the same game as earlier in the season which ended in a 2-2 draw. The homeside are 15th in the table with just two points keeping them out of the bottom three, there’s a four point gap to 14th so they really can’t afford to have this winless drought last any longer. They are without a league victory for 15 games which stretches right back to November where they beat Le Havre 3-2 away from home, Samba Diawara’s side will look to end that poor run in front of their home supporters here.

The visitors Marseille are second in the table which they hope to maintain come the close of season, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are 19 pts behind leaders PSG who have been by far the best side this season. The away side will come into this fixture hoping to get back to winning ways after losing their last two at home to Lens (0-1) and away to PSG (3-1). There is a 26 point gap between the two sides in the table so will that show come match day? Kick off 16.00pm Live on Ligue 1 Pass.

Best odds for this game can be found at European gambling sites: Reims 9/2, Marseille 8/13 and the Draw 16/5.

The second game of the day comes from the Stade Geoffroy Guichard where Saint-Etienne will host PSG, this fixture has resulted in both sides getting on the scoresheet in the last five so will that trend carry on here? Eirik Horneland’s side are 17th in the table and three points from safety before this game, they are without a win in nine fixtures collecting just the four points. The last victory came here against Reims 3-1 who also find themselves in a survival battle this season.

The visitors PSG have been fantastic all season, Luis Enrique’s side have the league in the bag and have just one defeat in 26 games in all competitions which was at home to Liverpool in the Champions League. They went on to win the second leg of that last 16 contest beating the English side 4-1 on penalties. The forward duo of Ousmane Dembele (21 goals) and Bradley Barcola (13 goals) will start up top and see this as a good opportunity to add to their season’s tally. Kick off 18.00pm Live on Ligue 1 Pass.

Best odds for this game can be found at non UKGC casinos: Saint Etienne 14/1, PSG ⅙ and the Draw 8/1.

The final game of the day comes from the Stade Louis 11 where Monaco will host Nice, this is another fixture which has seen both sides score regularly. Adolf Hutter’s side sit 3rd in the table and on course for a Champions League place next season, they arrive here with two wins and one draw in their last three games. They beat Reims at home (3-0), drew away to Toulouse (1-1) and then beat Angers away (0-2). We expect Mika Biereth to start up front the Denmark international has scored 11 goals so far this campaign.

The visitors Nice sit 4th in the table, Franck Haise’s side are without a victory in their last two league games. They lost at home to Lyon (0-2) and then drew at home to Auxerre (1-1) where Melvin Bard saw a straight red card on the 87th minute and then the homeside conceded a 94th minute equaliser. This looks to be a hard fixture to get back to winning ways but 3rd against 4th we can expect an entertaining game of football.
